ALEX
REZNIK
“I
started working with Alex a year ago. I can only describe
him as a Russian army drill sergeant who has somehow mastered
yoga, Ayurvedic medicine, kickboxing, and nutritional counseling?and
delivers the whole package with the energy of a Jewish grandmother
with her favorite grandchild. Twelve months of workout indoors
and outdoors, infinitely varied and challenging, have gotten
me into the best condition of my life.”
Adam Blumenthal
First Deputy Comptroller
Chief Financial Officer for the City of New York
Born
in Russia, Alex Reznik studied nutrition at St. Petersburg
University and went on to become a fitness instructor for
the Russian army’s Speznaz elite commando team. After
immigrating to the States, he continued his fitness education,
graduating at the top of his class from the East Coast Instructor
Training School, receiving the prestigious Gold Certificate
in Weight Management from the American Council on Exercise
(ACE), in addition to a certificate in personal training.
In
1995, Alex founded Complete Body Personal Training (now Complete
Body Development), using the Six Essential Elementssm as the
core of Complete Body’s training philosophy?strength,
aerobics, flexibility, nutrition, meditation, and rest. “No
Pain, More Gain” has become Complete Body’s motto.
Through his unique approach, Alex has made many positive changes
in the lives of his clients. But he and the rest of the Complete
Body staff recognized that optimal health requires more than
just a toned physique.
Alex
discovered the benefits of Life Coaching firsthand when he
hired a coach in the mid-90s. A coach is a personal trainer
for the mind, encouraging you to achieve your goals and become
more successful. Unlike psychotherapy, Life Coaching focuses
on an individual’s present and future. Alex’s
own experience taught him that fitness comes first and foremost
from the mind. He then began incorporating coaching elements
into his training.
One
of the latest elements of Complete Body is the ancient Indian
holistic tradition of Ayurveda. In 1999, as a result of over-working
and stress, Alex began suffering from heart palpitations,
and went to several doctors who all reported there was nothing
wrong with him. “I realized that traditional medicine
does not deal with you when your body is warning you that
something is wrong, but only when you are already sick. I
wanted to explore ways to support a healthy life and prevent
disease.”
Alex
started looking for answers and discovered Ayurveda. After
meeting Deepak Chopra, Alex began collaborating with the Chopra
Center for Well Being as Deepak’s personal trainer and
lecturer/exercise instructor for numerous Chopra Center seminars.
Alex is currently completing the Center’s rigorous Creating
Health Certification program.
Continuing
on his journey of personal growth, Alex realized the importance
of integrating one’s self with their environment. He
has added Environmental Wellness Design Studio (EWDS) as a
new element of Complete Body. EWDS is dedicated to helping
balance our true inner self with our environment. In a continuous
process of personal development and spiritual growth, our
studio offers everything from consulting, organizing, and
re-designing your existing environment to designing and building
home and office gyms, spas, saunas, meditation rooms, terraces,
gardens, and larger scale projects.
“I
have discovered ways to bring focus into my life and I love
sharing it with my clients. My goal is to bring personal training
to the highest level possible. I care for my clients like
they were family and I aspire to help them achieve the utmost
in health and fitness in life on every level.”
Headquartered
in New York City, Complete Body is now available in Los Angeles,
Miami, London and Paris, and continues to grow with services
expanding throughout the world.
