At an early age, Ryan's appreciation
for the aesthetic physique was born. He admired the dedication and perseverance
displayed by the Olympic gymnast greats. Their bodies spoke for them, like
artists' masterpiece displaying their strong will and most of all, passion
in reaching their goals.
Later
in his teens, Ryan had found his calling in the activity of fitness training.
He knew there was more to this than the thoughtless leveraging of heavy
weights. Through hands on experience combined with scholastic achievements,
Ryan began to see a different side of the "sport." He describes it as an
"artistic approach." He began to work as a fitness trainer in 1994. This
was his awakening. Not only could he inspire others to achieve a healthier
lifestyle, but also share in the benefits of what he had developed. His
technique allowed his clients to progress at a much safer and effective
rate. With passion to hone his technique, Ryan worked with every possible
clientele. He instructed a wide spectrum of clientele ranging from, the
elderly & post rehab patients, to competitive athletes.
In
1998, Ryan traveled to Atlanta to train the cast of Elton John and Tim
Rice's, A ida. As the play moved back to New York, so did Ryan. Now setting
his sights on "the big city," he researched the vast variety of fitness
facilities. It was The Sport Center at Chelsea Pier, where Ryan later became
employed. There he had an opportunity to share what he developed to a much
larger crowd. He was a hit, quickly establishing a solid following as a
P .I.E.R. level trainer. The fitness director Michael Liteman & Celebrities
such as Richard Kind, Heather Locklear and Ethan Hawk were some of his
select clientele. As time went on, Ryan completed his M.S. in Exercise
Physiology at Adelphi University. Always living on Long Island he desired
to establish a business nearer to home working exclusively as a free lance
trainer due to his fondness for the one on one atmosphere. His main base
became Powerhouse Gym a place where he could develop his business. Simultaneously,
he sustained an array of select clientele snch as Oliver Platt & NBC
employees.
Ryan's
personal fitness achievements have translated down the modeling avenue.
He is featured in Exercise for men ma2azine, April 2001. Currently he is
working on a book deal, in efforts to demonstrate his experiences and "physical
Art," his technique. The future looks bright for Ryan; he currently seeks
to do what his passion drives him at its pinnacle. That is to help others
continuously set and achieve their fitness relates goals in effort to facilitate
quality of life and overall well being. His focus is on presenting this
to the largest audience possible. |
