When you hire a personal trainer, you get much more than you expect. There are more benefits to having someone plan with you and train with you than we can count, really. Top 10 Reasons to Hire a Personal Trainer

hire a personal trainer

(1) You need personalized workouts.

First of all, your body is different from everyone else’s. Following a plan that is general will only get you so far. You need a personalized workout. You can hire a personal trainer specifically to create workouts that will help you reach your goals. Your trainer will take your history, current situation, and goals into account. Then, your trainer will create a workout plan just for you.

As an article in Livestrong states, “The personalized plan typically gives you better results than a general workout plan. Because he knows your physical condition and medical background, he is able to make accommodations to the program to fit your needs.”

The personalized workout is probably the single biggest reason you should hire a personal trainer and stick with them.

(2) Personal trainers know what they are doing.

Personal trainers are trained in fitness and health. Additionally, if you are new to fitness or are just starting to get in shape, you need someone with expertise. You also benefit from having someone in your corner that has a wealth of experience and knowledge to draw from.

As a result, your workouts will be more effective, because your trainer will choose exercises and plans that are based on education.

(3) The focus is on you.

“Using a personal trainer, whether it’s for one session, one month, or one year, is one of the best things that anyone can do for him or herself because it allows the focus to be on you.” (Active.com). When you hire a personal trainer, you make an investment in yourself and your goals. A solid, experienced trainer will focus the entire time they commit to you on you. The time you spend with your trainer is unlike any other personal time.

(4) You get the support you need.

Weight loss or training for an athletic event can be isolating, sometimes. This is especially true if you don’t know anyone else in your situation. Unfortunately, when you try to go it alone, it’s easier to quit. But when you hire a personal trainer, you get the mental and emotional support that you need to keep going.

Personal trainers work with people in all sorts of situations. Because of this, they are more compassionate than you might think. Sometimes, a personal trainer can help you get comfortable going to the gym when you wouldn’t have otherwise.

(5) Trainers can help with meal plans and goals.

A good personal trainer can help you with meal plans and nutrition goals. Even if they are not skilled as a dietitian, a trainer can point you in the right direction or give you a basic road map. They can also speak from experience and provide some tips. Additionally, if you’re on a personalized workout plan, the plan will probably include nutrition goals.

(6) You’ll have safe workouts.

When you hire a personal trainer, you don’t run the risk of serious injury from bad form. Trainers are skilled in making sure your form is good so that you get an effective, safe workout. Weight lifting and even some forms of cardio, like rowing, can be risky unless you know what you are doing.

On the other hand, a personal trainer can show you how to get the most from these activities without hurting yourself. They’ll know what will work best for you. If you have prior injuries or have had joint replacements, they will know how to work around them.

(7) Personal trainers provide education.

A personal training experience isn’t just about workouts. Trainers are educating you every step of the way. It’s a full body, mind, and soul experience that will improve your life as a whole. The more you workout with a trainer, the more you will know for the times when you don’t have them around.

Whether you train with someone once, twice, or three times a week, they are going to teach you things that you can apply every day. Fitness tips, proper form, nutrition guidance, and lifestyle habits are some of the things you will learn every time you train.

(8) They will hold you accountable.

Every personal trainer is different, and each has their own way of holding you accountable. At the same time, the commitment itself is going to hold you accountable, too. You’ll have a specific day and time each week that you have committed to meeting with someone. You are not going to like breaking that commitment, especially when you know they are counting on you to be there.

Personal training isn’t like a regular diet plan or personal workout plan. Having a trainer creates accountability because someone else is going to know if you bail out.

(9) You will maximize your workout time.

Have you ever gone to the gym and spent the whole time on the treadmill, not because you wanted to, but because you weren’t sure what else to do? If so, you are not alone! So many people waste time doing really ineffective exercises simply because they don’t have a clue what they should be doing. They want to do someone else, but are not sure how or what to work on.

Instead of trying to just look like you know what you’re doing, hire a personal trainer. They will know exactly how to spend 45 to 60 minutes effectively, and you won’t be wandering around from machine to machine. You will have a specific game plan and someone to make sure you follow it.

(10) You’ll get a great workout on your own time.

By hiring a personal trainer, you’ll get an optimal workout that’s on your schedule. Flexibility is key. Not only that, but some trainers will have you enjoying a variety of exercises that you wouldn’t previously consider, and not only in the gym. Some days you’ll be outside, or in the pool. If you ask you trainer for variety, you’ll get it.

The key the phrase “personal trainer” is that it’s personal. It’s on your time, tailored to your body, your goals, and your needs.

Conclusion

If you’re new to fitness, hiring a personal trainer can be one of your best first steps. Your trainer will become a friend, mentor, support system, and teacher all in one. For some people, a personal trainer is what takes them from just dreaming out achieving goals to actually reaching them. Because your body and lifestyle is unique, you need a unique plan that is personalized for you and your goals. Personal training is the right approach and is more effective than using a generalized workout plan.

A friend of mine suggested getting a personal trainer but I’d like to learn the ins and outs before I pull the trigger. Thanks for the great read!
