Satisfy Food Cravings While Staying on Track – Weight Loss

Depending on your goals, it may be hard to fit some foods into your nutrition plan. 

Many of the common foods that we crave have been made to be hyper-palatable and are calorie-dense. Especially in the later stages of a weight loss plan, it can be difficult to incorporate these foods regularly into your routine.

Unfortunately, going cold turkey when it comes to your favorite foods is also detrimental due to the mental toll it takes which can reduce adherence to the plan. Lifestyle and behavioral changes are much more effective than vilifying and excluding entire foods that you enjoy. As always, balance and moderation are key!

  • Experiment with alternatives to the foods

One of the best ways to satisfy your cravings is to find alternatives similar to the foods you love, but have qualities that decrease caloric density or improve satiety. These can be different foods that give you the same satisfaction or simply versions of the food prepared differently.
